How to OCR a PDF
- Open the scanned PDF, or right-click it in File Explorer and choose OCR with AllofPDF.
- Select the document language so recognition matches your text.
- Let the app recognize each page. It works offline and does not upload anything.
- Save the searchable PDF, then search with Ctrl F, copy text or export it to Word.

Getting accurate OCR results
Recognition is most accurate with straight, clean scans at 300 DPI. Rotate sideways pages before running OCR, and pick the correct language. If a language is missing from the list, add it in Windows Settings under Time & language → Language & region, including its optional OCR component. After OCR, AI questions and read-aloud also work on the scanned pages.
